The newest exhibit at the Whiting/Robertsdale Historical Museum features the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7th 1941. It also relates the beginning of WWII in Europe on September 1, 1939 with the Nazi invasion of Poland. Photos of some of the men & women from Whiting & Robertsdale who served in the Armed Forces during the war are also on display. Items such as coins, stamps, V-mail, air raid drill instructions, gas masks, ration books & stamps, newspaper headlines & newspaper articles about local service members are also featured. Part of the Roll of Honor from George Rogers Clark High School is also on display.
The museum is located at 1610 119th Street in Whiting & is open ONLY ON SUNDAYS from 12 noon to 4 pm. The exhibit runs until Sunday January 31. Admission is free & MASKS MUST BE WORN BY ALL VISITORS.
